Once the tour is confirmed, the balance payment must be made no later than 90 days before the departure date.
Payment details will be provided upon booking.
Please note that different payment policies may apply depending on the tour, such as full payment requirements at the time of booking.

The trip covers accommodation on a sailing boat, the services of a Skipper and a certified Mountain Guide, a Vertical Sailing Tour T-shirt, pantry ready service, three nights in the harbor, and boat fuel.

Travel expenses to and from the departure harbor, meals on land, additional expenses for pantry and boat extras (300 euros per person payable in cash at boarding), transportation and extra harbor fees due to adverse conditions are not included.

The €300 onboard payment is collected in cash at boarding to cover shared expenses that vary depending on the tour. This includes pantry service (pre-arranged food and beverages), fuel for the boat, and marina fees. Since these costs can fluctuate, keeping them separate ensures transparency and fairness for all participants.

If VST cancels a confirmed tour, you will receive a full refund of the amount paid. No refund will be issued for additional expenses like transportation or accommodation

Cancellation is possible, but the deposit of €500 is non-refundable. If you cancel 45 or more days before the tour starts, your balance payment will be fully refunded. Different conditions may apply only if specified.

Life on Board  of a Sailing Boat

Check-in begins at 18:00 as stated in the program. The boat will likely not be available before 16:00, meaning we won’t be able to accommodate guests or their luggage earlier than scheduled. We recommend arriving at 18:00 to ensure a smooth check-in process.

The crew usually consists of a Skipper, a Mountain Guide, and 7 to 10 guests. The boats are 45 to 55 ft. long with 4 to 5 cabins and 2 to 3 toilets. Guests are responsible for organizing accommodations in shared cabins and participating in daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and stowing gear. Water and electricity must be used conservatively.

Yes, couples have priority for private cabins with double-sized beds. The double occupancy price is designed for couples or friends who wish to share a double bed. Bathrooms are typically shared, with most boats having one bathroom per room, but layouts vary, and we cannot guarantee a private bathroom for double cabins. Sharing spaces is an essential part of life on board, fostering a sense of community and teamwork among the crew.

Toilets typically operate with a manual or electric pump and should only be used for natural waste and toilet paper to prevent blockages. Water should be used sparingly during showers since fresh water is limited until the next refill. Cleanliness is a shared responsibility to ensure comfort for everyone on board.

Most boats have shared bathrooms, with at least two on board. However, certain front cabins come with a private bathroom. Availability is limited, so if you require a private bathroom, please request it at the time of booking, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Yes, no sailing experience is necessary. The Skipper will provide safety instructions and sailing tips throughout the tour.

Yes, the Skipper will offer lessons on sailing and navigation. You can learn about sails, winds, knots, navigation, and more.

Our sailing routes typically stay close to the coastline, where the waters are generally calm and the likelihood of seasickness is low. However, if you’re prone to motion sickness, don’t worry—it’s usually short-lived and part of the adventure. We recommend packing motion sickness remedies, such as anti-nausea tablets or patches.

Weather at sea can be unpredictable, but there’s no need for concern. At the sole discretion of the skipper, the itinerary may be modified for safety reasons. In case of adverse weather, alternative plans can be suggested to the group, such as onshore excursions or seeking shelter in a marina. These changes will be made with the group’s agreement, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone on board.

While docked, the boat connects to shore power, allowing you to use regular outlets for charging devices.
At sea, electricity comes from onboard batteries that supply 12-volt power, similar to a car.
We recommend bringing a car charger adapter for convenience. Keep in mind that high-powered devices like hair dryers aren’t suitable for onboard use—luckily, the sea breeze and sun will do the job naturally!

Most of the sailing is near the coast, where you can use mobile data on your phone. However, during open-sea crossings, internet access might be unavailable. This is a great opportunity to disconnect, embrace the sailing lifestyle, and enjoy the natural beauty around you.

No, blankets and sheets will be provided on board. However, if you prefer, you are welcome to bring a sleeping bag for extra comfort.

Yes, we accommodate vegetarians on board. Meals prepared on the boat can be adjusted to suit vegetarian preferences, ensuring a balanced and satisfying diet throughout the trip. Additionally, for the few dinners planned on land, restaurants will offer vegetarian options as well. If you have specific dietary requirements, please let us know in advance so we can better cater to your needs.

 Climbing

No, if your group consists of experienced climbers, you can opt for a private tour without a guide, which lowers costs. In this case, we will provide information on the best climbing spots, and you will be free to climb independently. If there are mixed skill levels, the guide will assist the less experienced while more advanced climbers can tackle their preferred routes.

Yes, deep water soloing is a fun and adventurous activity that complements life on board. However, for a more enjoyable experience, it’s best suited for climbers who can handle a grade 6b or higher due to the overhanging nature of the routes.

Yes, climbing crags with a wide range of grades are selected to ensure everyone can find routes that match their level.

Yes, a Mountain Guide will be on board to teach climbing techniques, rope maneuvers, and safety procedures.

To fully enjoy the tour and participate in all activities, it’s essential to bring the appropriate personal gear. You’ll need complete climbing equipment, including a single rope (60-80 meters), a harness, a helmet, quickdraws, spare carabiners, climbing shoes, a chalk bag, and a belay device—preferably an auto-locking device like the Petzl Gri-gri or similar. If you don’t have your own equipment, Vertical Sailing Tour (VST) offers rental gear upon request.

For daily excursions, a backpack with a capacity of 35-45 liters is recommended. Given the rugged terrain, sturdy hiking shoes are necessary—avoid sandals. Additionally, pack a warm pullover and a waterproof jacket for cooler evenings or unexpected rain, along with both long and short pants for varying weather conditions.
Don’t forget swimwear, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a bathing towel to make the most of the sea.
Please note that rigid suitcases are not allowed on board; instead, bring a foldable suitcase or soft bag that can be easily stored once unpacked to save space on the boat.

Yes, rope and quickdraws can be rented for the week at a cost of €80.Please let us know in advance so we can set the gear aside for you.
